Aunque la primera mitad del año seguíamos con muchas restricciones debido a la pandemia, la segunda mitad de 2021 he vuelto a viajar, he vuelto a descubrir nuevos lugares, culturas y paisajes y sobre todo he vuelto a vivir aventuras. Y lejos, me he ido lejos.

Y es que no me cansaré de esta frase: travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer (viajar es lo único que compras que te hace más rico). Porque hay lugares que sabes que existen, sobre los que has leído. Sitios que sabes que van a ser increíbles. Y de pronto te ves ahí, en los libros, sobrecogida por la belleza que alberga este mundo y viviendo momentos irrepetibles que se quedan en una mochila de experiencias que nadie te puede quitar y que invisiblemente llevarás siempre contigo.

Y, teniendo en cuenta que se ha viajado un poquito menos este año, ¿cuál es mi top 10 de 2021?

Although the first half of the year was still very restricted due to the pandemic, the second half of 2021 has seen me travelling again, discovering new places, cultures and landscapes and, above all, experiencing new adventures. And far away, I have gone far away.

I will always love this phrase: travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer. Because there are places that you know exist, that you have read about. Places that you know are going to be amazing. And suddenly you see yourself there, in the books, overwhelmed by the beauty of this world and living unrepeatable moments that remain in a backpack of experiences that no one can take away from you and that you will invisibly carry with you forever.

And, bearing in mind that we have travelled a little less this year, what is my top 10 of 2021?

Seychelles

Será que ha sido el último viaje y el más soñado en mucho tiempo, pero estas islas del Océano Índico son un auténtico paraíso.

It may have been the last and most dreamed-of trip in a long time, but these islands in the Indian Ocean are a true paradise.

La Palma

El fenómeno natural del año en mi isla favorita. Aquí cuento lo que significó este volcán para mi. No solo en la parte aventurera sino en lo emocional.

The natural phenomenon of the year on my favourite island. Here I tell what this volcano meant to me. Not only on the adventurous side but also on the emotional side.

Alpes Albaneses

¿Sabes de esos lugares de los que apenas has escuchado hablar antes del viaje pero en el que vives una experiencia bonita, bonita? Pues ahí, en ese exacto lugar, están estos fantásticos valles.

La ruta desde el Valle de Valbona al Valle de Theth es muy recomensable y simplemente espectacular.

Do you know those places you’ve barely heard of before your trip, but where you have wonderful experiences? Well… there, in that exact spot, are these fantastic valleys.

The route from the Valbona Valley to the Theth Valley is highly recommended and simply spectacular.

Lago Ohrid

Es el destino vacacional por excelencia de los Macedonios y no es para menos. La vida y atardeceres alrededor de este lago es apacible, amable y muy gustosa.

It is the favorite Macedonian holiday destination with a reason. Life and sunsets around this lake are peacefully good, marvelous and very pleasant.

Pompeya

Si el fenómeno natural más espectacular del año ha sido el volcán de La Palma, visitar una ciudad que fue sepultada hace 2000 años por las cenizas del Vesubio, por la que puedes caminar y que mantiene algunas partes intactas… te deja sin palabras.

If the most spectacular natural phenomenon of the year has been the volcano in La Palma island, visiting a city that was buried 2000 years ago by the ashes of Vesuvius, where you can walk through and some parts of the city are still like they were time ago, will blow your mind.

El hierro

Lo que más me gustó es que la isla es Reserva Mundial de la Biosfera y 100% renovable. Sus vientos alisios dotan a El Hierro de la energía necesaria para autoabastecerse y además cuidan y miman cada rincón de la isla, siendo muy sostenibles y responsables con el medio ambiente.

What I liked the most about El Hierro is that it’s a World Biosphere Reserve and 100% renewable. Its trade winds provide the island with the energy it needs to be self-sufficient and they also take care of every corner of the island, being very sustainable and environmentally responsible.

Atenas

Historia, gastronomía y rincones con mucho encanto. Pasear entre las columnas del Partenón o imaginarme cómo fueron los primeros Juegos Olímpicos de la historia moderna… acompañada de mi madre y con una moussaka de recompensa.

History, gastronomy and charming corners. Strolling among the columns of the Parthenon or imagining what the first Olympic Games in modern history were like… everything with my mother by my side and with a moussaka as a reward.

Belgrado

Bares, terrazas, mucho ambiente, gente con ganas de pasarlo bien… una ciudad con ganas de mucha vida entre las heridas y la historia de una guerra muy cercana.

Bars, terraces, good vibes, people enjoying their time… a city full of life despite of the wounds and history of a war that is very close in time.

Roma

Perder un vuelo tiene consecuencias negativas y, en ocasiones como esta, sorpresas muy agradables. Porque no importa cuántas veces hayas visitado Roma, esta ciudad siempre es una buena opción. Pasear por sus imponentes calles y monumentos te hace recordar el esplendor de un imperio que conquistó el mundo.

Missing a flight has negative consequences and, on the other hand, very pleasant surprises. Because no matter how many times you’ve visited Rome, this city is always a good choice. Strolling through its magnificient streets and monuments reminds you of the splendour of an empire that conquered the world…

Setenil de las bodegas

Cádiz es increíble, de eso no hay duda. Pero descubrir rincones como este pueblo con sus casas enclavadas en la roca lo hace aún más especial.

Cádiz is incredible, there is no doubt about it. But discovering places like this village with its houses built into the rock makes it even more special.
