Imagina que te levantas en África para ver un amanecer en el mar. Al igual que sucede con los atardeceres en este continente, el cielo se tiñe de color rojizo. La temperatura es agradable y en el horizonte un barco cruza por delante del sol en el momento justo en el que el astro asoma. Y, aquí es cuando llega la magia, las ballenas jorobadas te dan los buenos días con sus saltos y acrobacias varias en todo el territorio marino que tus ojos llegan a alcanzar.

Eso, es Tofo ❤

Salvo el barco, el resto del escenario lo tuvimos durante todos los días que estuvimos allí. Los madrugones en África este verano han tenido el mejor de los alicientes: la vida salvaje.

Tofo se encuentra al sur de Mozambique y tiene algo especial, que se vive y se siente. Con playas infinitas que recuerdan a Cádiz y donde te sientes parte de una comunidad desde el primer momento. No es de extrañar que haya una gran comunidad extranjera viviendo aquí. Tofo es «the place to be».

Es un lugar ideal para hacer surf, bucear y para ver al deseado tiburón ballena (si es temporada). El agua del mar es de un color verdoso debido a la cantidad de plancton que tiene, lo que no solo la hace atractiva para el tiburón ballena, también se puedes ver especies como las manta raya, tortugas marinas, delfines y, por supuesto, las ballenas jorobadas. El verano coincide con la época de reproducción de estos mamíferos y constantemente se las veía con las crías desde la orilla o desde las barcas que hacen «ocean safaris» (Tofo Scuba o Liquid Adventures son compañías muy recomendables y respetuosas con los animales).

Tofo tiene algo de magia. Se queda dentro de ti y al recordarlo es imposible que no se dibuje una sonrisa en tu cara.

Por cierto, qué bien se come en Tofo y en todo Mozambique.

Imagine waking up in Africa to see a sunrise over the sea. As it happens with sunsets in this continent, the sky is a reddish colour. The temperature is pleasant and on the horizon a boat crosses in front of the sun just as the sun rises. And… this is when the magic happens, the humpback whales say good morning to you with their jumps and the acrobatics in all the marine territory that your eyes can reach.

That is Tofo ❤

Except for the boat, we had the same scenery for all the days we were there. The early mornings in Africa this summer have had the best of all attractions: wildlife.

Tofo is in the south of Mozambique and has something special, that you live and can feel. With endless beaches that reminds you to Cadiz and where you feel part of a community from the very first moment. No wonder why there is a big foreign community living here. Tofo is «the place to be».

It is an ideal place for surfing, diving and whale shark spotting (if in season). The sea water is a greenish colour due to the amount of plankton it contains, which not only makes it attractive for whale sharks, but for other species such as manta rays, sea turtles, dolphins and, of course, humpback whales. Summertime is the moment for the breeding season of these mammals and they are constantly seen with their calves from the shore or from the boats that make «ocean safaris» (Tofo Scuba or Liquid Adventures are highly recommended and respectful with the animals).

Tofo has some kind of magic. It stays with you and when you remember it, you can’t help but smile.

By the way, the food is delicious in Tofo and in Mozambique in general.
